1. Goto Control Panel
Click on START button and Type-in “Control panel”. And then click on Control Panel button.
2. Go to “Clock and Region” option.
You will see Clock and Region option. Just below it you can see “Change date, time or number formats”. Click on it.
In case you do not find “Change date, time or number formats”
If you do not find this option. Then you are probably in “Small or Large icon mode”. You have to change this to default settings that is “Category”
3. Go to “Additional Settings”.
After clicking on “Change date, time or number formats”, You will see a Popup window. Click on Additional Settings button.
4. Switch to “Date” tab.
Once again a popup window will apear. You have to switch to “Date” tab.
5. Goto to “Date Formats”.
Now to go to Date formats option and add “ddd” just before the “dd-MM-yyyy”.
“ddd” = first three letter of weekday (eg. SUN for SUNDAY)
“dddd” = all letters.
And then Click on Apply and you can see changes in upper window and in taskbar.

You can also change month view from numerical to letters.Just Add an extra “M” with “MM” for three letters.
“MM” = numerical value of month (eg. 01 for January)
“MMM” = first three letters(eg. “Jan” for January)
“MMMM” = All letters(eg. “January” for January)
